The good, the okay and the OH NO she didn't~

The Nester  has done it again ~ she is throwing a P.O.O.P.I.E. (People Opposing Objectionable Pretend plants in the Environment) party! And just like any party I go to I am jumping in with both feet~

Below you are going to see the fake plants and trees in my home.  Some are good, some are okay and some, well one, is just down right bad and it will be making it's way into the trash as soon as I get done with this post~

For the good, I give you~

The orchids that are inside the entrance
of our master bedroom

I love their light and airy feel

I have a few tall trees through out my home
Yes, I would prefer to have real ones but I would kill them
so quickly!

In all of my trees I have up lights on timers shining through the leaves
It adds such beautiful shadows on my ceiling at night.

This is a collection of greenery that I tucked into a painted pot.  It has found its way to the top of a shelf in our family room.

It beautifully filled a huge opening

For the okay,  I give you~

More orchids, I like the simple elegance of orchids.

And lastly for the OH NO she didn't, I humbly say oh yes I did~

I do love the orchids, though. They are beautiful enough to fool ya!

So the question of the day that I have been asking myself...
for the 'oh no, she didn't" what are you going to do with them?

Michele September 10, 2008 at 9:22 AM

I love fake orchids. I have had real orchids and people asked me if they were fake - so might as well save myself some trouble!

Half Gaelic, Half Garlic! September 10, 2008 at 9:31 AM

I also have a fake orchid in my bedroom!

You are not alone....I kill all things green in my house too!

Have a great day!

barbarah September 10, 2008 at 9:43 AM

I like them all, even the last one!

Bella Casa September 10, 2008 at 9:51 AM

I want some faux trees like yours and I would put lights in them, too...see, we would be best buddies if we met in person :)

Barbie September 10, 2008 at 10:13 AM

What a fun post! You have great style but yeah, that last one has gotta go. :-)

a Tonggu Momma September 10, 2008 at 10:22 AM

Wait... what's wrong with that last one? My entire house looks like that. (Kidding. I'm kidding, y'all.)

This entire post had me giggling. I'm so not a design blog person, but I'll have to check out the Nester. The award title got me.

(Oh, and how sweet are you!!! Thanks for the comment today on my blog.)

Your plants and flowers are beautiful – and just look at how long they will stay that way and with no water!

Traci September 10, 2008 at 11:19 AM

I want to see those lovely suitcases....they look simply wonderful!!! Nice post, thanks!!!

Growin' with it! September 10, 2008 at 11:22 AM

from someone who could kill a cactus...i'm all for the fake green stuff!

laurel September 10, 2008 at 12:00 PM

So glad you dodged the Ike bullet. I tto don't do the real thing. I kill everything too. I love the orchids.

Michelle September 10, 2008 at 12:11 PM

My mom owns a silk flower business and still, to this day, I lean over to smell half of her arrangements. Seriously. They have come a long way since the old shiny silk ferns. If you pay for quality, you can get faux plants and flowers that look like the real thing - and you don't have to worry about watering or killing them. (Perfect for those of us without a green thumb.)

I agree with you, I LOVE the light and airy orchids in your master bedroom. BEAUTIFUL!

This was such a funny post. I love your orchids...they are light and airy looking : )

You go with your fakes girl!
You go!

Self Confessed Lamp Tramp September 10, 2008 at 3:30 PM

I like your fakes. It is so hard to keep real plants sometimes. My real palms are dieing, I have to keep my ficus ourside , nestled in shade. I am having good luck with a few real plants as long as I'm home to water them!

Oooooooh I have the same round mirror! I LOVE IT!

Oh and love the idea of the uplights on your trees and the fact they are on timers! I am SO going to steal that idea! Those are some fab plants!

You are so funny & such a sport to play! I think everything in your house is gorgeous!!!

Jenni @ nest to keep September 10, 2008 at 6:57 PM

I don't think that last one was all that bad! :) And what a funny title for the party~ at first I thought I was seeing things wrong! :)

I hope you have a great day! :)

Your last comment cracked me up. Quality silks have come a long way though, not so "plastic" looking as they used to be.

Susie Q September 10, 2008 at 7:46 PM

I love the orchids and, well, your floweres all look great to me!
There are some spots that need a little touch and could never take a real flower or plant. Yours are special!

mommy24treasures September 10, 2008 at 9:06 PM

oh I think your home is so lovely,I wouldn'tbe ashamed of them.

Nikki September 10, 2008 at 9:18 PM

Love the title, I do like the orchids.

Rebecca September 10, 2008 at 9:20 PM

I am a fan of fake plants, myself. :) I kill real ones!!

tammy September 10, 2008 at 11:37 PM

They all look beautiful to me! I once had a real orchid, and that was the end of that. I can only grow things outside.

Thanks for leaving me a comment the other day!
