Some needed rest~

There are days where I feel completely inadequate as a wife and mother. Days when the desire to be all that my family needs me to be is there but the energy is not.

Can you relate?

Today has been one of those days; in fact it has been one of those weeks. I am weary, and in need of rest.

Matthew 11:28 has been running through my heart and mind~ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

It is almost as if God has issued and invitation for more quite time alone with Him. I am happy to oblige.

I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend. When Monday comes around I plan on being refreshed, renewed and rested~

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I'm always surprised how many visitors don't say "hello." I love "meeting" other adoptive moms.

Your daughter is breathtaking!

I completely relate. Somedays, about midday, I desperately need a 20 minute power nap. Already had one today, totally refreshed. Have a relaxing week-end.

I can understand where you are coming from, and I don't even have all the responsibilities that you do yet! I hope this weekend is just what you need it to be.

Thank you for coming over to my blog and leaving a comment! That meant so much to me! You also have a beautiful family. I feel inadequate as a wife and mother every day, and know that Jesus has to show up, or the whole thing is going to sink. Thank you for your practical encouragment. Hugs!

We've all been there! Listen, and rest in Him, He'll give you what you need. Some personal TLC and chocololate doesn't hurt either! Love ya! Sending hugs.

I know exactly how you feel. I often use the analogy of a well. I so feel like buckets of water are being taken from me. Don't get me wrong...I love to pour out myself to others. Its a mom's very nature. However, if nothing is being poured back into me (or I am pouring out more than what I am allowing in), I have nothing to give. So every now and again, I hibernate. I just let God, my family, and my friends pour back into me. Can I give you a drink? XOXOXO

Here is to resting!

Jenni @ nest to keep August 20, 2008 at 1:58 PM

Hi, I just had to comment on this one! I totally understand! Sometimes I have days where I am so tired, even the DESIRE to do and be great things for my family isn't there! Go easy on yourself and rest more often! Of course, I should heed my own advice...
