A little lamp 'mistreatment'~

Girlfriends,

Thank you so much for all of your words of encouragement! I am thankful that y'all have been brought into my life in such a special and unique way. It is a wonderful blessing.

The weekend was good. I took a couple of walks alone, spent quality time with my family, spent quite time praying, praising and being still with God. We slowed everything down a little and it felt good to just be. Now that Monday is here I hope I can hold the craziness of life at arms length and relish in the feeling the weekend left me with, at least a while longer~

Over the weekend I did a small project that I wanted to share with you~

In our home we have a few alabaster lamps (they are my favorite type of lamp). One of my lamps had a pretty sad looking shade on it. So this past weekend I dressed it up~

First I hot glued grosgrain ribbon~

Then I really spiffed it up with a vintage broach~

Better right?
Even though it is not a 'mistreatment' of a window I am going to post this 'mistreatment' of this lampshade at Nesting Place. This is a fun blog full of wonderful ideas.

I think HGTV should hire you and my neice (clay in his hands). She can design on no budget and you can give the old a new look. Have a great Monday.

I am stealing your idea. I have 2 very large, very plain and very white lamp shades in the formal living room. This is a great idea.

Krista,

OMG!! I love the lamp. Who would have thought that ribbon and a broach could transform it so much. Great idea.

Thanks for your kind words and for stopping by to visit me.

(regarding post below...)I feel like that a lot of times lol but after talking to my mom (who was/is the BEST MOM in the world) and asked her if she ever had days where she felt like everything was "a-miss" (putting it nicely), and she told me more times than she can count...Isn't funny, that I don't ever remember having bad days like that with my mom...to me she was and still is the best! I so understand that 'we moms' all have bad days...sometimes even weeks, but it is the beautiful days that get us through it...Just remember, you are not alone...
