Big day~

Monday was Bella's first day of Pre-K 4. On Sunday afternoon we got everything ready for the next morning.

Drinks getting cold in the refrigerator~ check
Rice cakes and peanut butter in snack size containers~ check
Lunch box out on the counter~ check
Paper work needed for school~ check
Outfit picked out ~ check

This is what Bella pick out for her first day of school. As much as I love seeing my girl in a tiara, a scarf, sunglasses, plastic princess shoes all while carrying a basket with a stuffed cat, I was reluctant to send her to school in all her accessories!

After much bribing discussion

This is what we finally agreed upon her wearing~

Once we got to school Bella was so excited to see her best school pal Miranda. It was so cute to see them together again!

Okay, that is SO funny! That's totally what my daughter would choose to wear on any given day (except she'd top it off by wearing two different shoes as well. What?!)

Bella IS bella! :) She looks like she would light up any ol' room she walks into.

Oh...come on....I love the outfit she picked out ROTFL! Now, that's my kind of gal lol! Gotta love it!!!! (this made my morning!)

And I can't wait to hear more on how she does at makes me tear up whenever I think about our Francesca going to school (and I so know that time is coming...soon)

What a special day! Bella looks so excited and beautiful:-). The 'bribing cross off' made me chuckle!

A princess needs her tiara. Oh how I can relate to those "discussions" with my daughter and now my grand ones.I see she is a Disney girl - Love it!

Marla August 20, 2008 at 11:08 AM

Too cute for words. Adalyn starts pre K in a couple of weeks, I cant wait to see what she picks out. I hope she has a great time at school with her friends.

The Byrd's Nest August 20, 2008 at 11:20 AM

Oh how funny! When Lottie went to weekday school she would put on a tutu every now and then over her outfit. The teachers loved it!

Donna August 20, 2008 at 11:30 AM

I have to agree with you that the second outfit is a bit more appropriate for school than Bella's first choice...but they are both cute!

Paula August 20, 2008 at 11:39 AM

Oh yea, much better outfit choice mom. She's cute in anything she puts on!

Colleen August 20, 2008 at 11:50 AM

Bella is so beautiful! What an outfit...gotta love her style for that one!
How did you make out with Fay? My hubby flew out of West Palm Beach yesterday about 12:30 pm in the midst of Fay. Couldn't believe they had airports open. And now it looks like Fay is coming our way!

Both outfits are adorable in very different ways. My little girl has her first day of pre-k in a couple of weeks.

I love the first outfit she picked out. Miranda does the same thing. They are so adorable together and I'm so happy they will get to spend another year together! We definitely need to get them together for playdates. :-)

Oh my gosh! This is too funny! Your entry wording his hysterical and the photo to back it up is priceless! What a fun story you shared! Hope her week, and your 'Mommy time' is going GREAT! Thx for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment! Leslie

I am so happy you left such a sweet comment on my blog...I was able to follow you here! I am SO glad I did and I will be around a lot now! (Oops, I hope that did not scare you! *smile*)
Your Bella is such a doll. I guess you saw enough of my blog to see that our Gracie came from China.
She arrived almost 4 years ago at the age of 61/2. She is such a blessing and joy as I know your Bella is.
Our son Dan came from Korea when he was 7. He is 26 now and yes. These two are really close. They adore onbe another despite the age difference.

I loved that outfit Bella chos. It is very like the clothes that Grace chose not so long ago. : )

Today was Grace's first day of 4th grade. I was so NOT ready to send her back to school. : ( I love it when my kids are home with me!

Thank you again for dropping by. I hope we will get to know one another well. I love your blog!

a Tonggu Momma August 20, 2008 at 1:30 PM

Love Bella's look (especially the basket complete with cat)... and I love your new bloggy look as well.

Darlene August 20, 2008 at 1:39 PM

Too funny....Bella was gonna rock the school in that outfit!! Hope she had a fabulous first day of school.

Jenni @ nest to keep August 20, 2008 at 1:53 PM

I had to chuckle when I saw what your daughter chose to wear to school! We have had similar "discussions" as I coaxed my daughters to please change into something else, lest I die of complete mortification! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! :) Your blog is so cute, and I will pop by again for sure! :)

Kristi August 20, 2008 at 4:06 PM

Fabulous outfit! I'm now feeling worse that I didn't notice that Kylie wasn't wearing shoes until halfway to preschool the other morning.
By the way, I'm loving the new "blog-over!" With a son on the way I'm guessing I'll need to pick something a little less pink for Fireworks and Fireflies...

Cindi August 20, 2008 at 5:30 PM

I have to say that I LOVE the outfit she picked!! And I can just imagine trying to get her to change her mind. :-)
She was quite adorable for her first day of school!

Kim August 20, 2008 at 7:49 PM

Way to cute! Bella will thank you some day for convincing her to change that adorable outfit. Makes you wonder what she'll pick out when she's a teenager. :-)

Enjoy these days, they grow so fast!

Josh & Katie August 20, 2008 at 9:44 PM

I'm a pre-k speech therapist and I am so excited to see our kids again! school starts Monday here

Michelle August 20, 2008 at 9:46 PM

And you didn't want her to wear that to school, WHY???? :-)

That is TOO funny!!!

sara August 21, 2008 at 10:03 AM

Both outfits were precious!! I think her fresh little hair cut made it though. She looks os 'grown up'. Sigh.

I was trying to figure out how many years I would have until Mya was school age. So, I have Fall 2011 she will be five. I have some time! (which I know will fly!)

Hauswife August 21, 2008 at 3:26 PM

Awww, now why not?! I love what she chose. OK, so it's a little impractical, but it's got flair, that's for sure! :)

Buzzings of a Queen Bee! August 21, 2008 at 4:25 PM

I LOVE her fashion sense! What style! Happy back-to-school Bella! Thank goodness Fay did not completely wash you guys away! She's headed our way and we get to dismiss our students early today as a precaution! Yay!
