I must share~

Girls, You know how it is when you find something good you just have to share it?~

Earlier today Vito called Bella and asked her if she would ‘like to go on a date with him?’ She was 'over the moon' excited. When I got home from work she asked me to please help her get dressed so she would be ready when Daddy got home. A few minutes later Vito rang the front door and escorted the most beautiful girl to the car~

My heart was in my throat as I watched them walk hand in hand huddled under the umbrella down the drive way~

But then I quickly remembered I have a night ALL TO MYSELF!  Can I get a Hallelujah?

My alone time began with an old friend that I needed to catch up with – Beth Moore. I have so neglected her and the amazing book that I am convinced God had her write just for me. In case I am wrong, (and from time to time I am but don’t tell Vito) and it was written for someone other than just me, I highly recommend Believing in God (or any of her other phenomenal books).  Beth’s writing holds many truths and over the years they have had a positive impact on my Christian walk.

I probably would still be sitting in the chair reading if my stomach hadn't began growling.

Since I had no one but me to worry about I choose a favorite snack ~

Pear Quesadilla's

2 wheat tortillas
Cream cheese (any spread able or shredded cheese will work)
Thinly sliced Bosc Pears (or use your favorite pear)

I spread the cream cheese on both tortillas, layered on the pears, drizzled with honey, and placed in a skillet over medium heat. ~  So Good!

Judging by the clock I knew my time alone was quickly coming to an end but I was able to spend a few minutes with a favorite crooner Michael Buble' ~

paired with candles, a hot bath and a Lemon Drop Bath Cocktail Fizzie

(graciously given by Lisa from a Long road to China- Thank you again my friend) I was in relaxation heaven

Of course all things must come to an end~

Mine ended when my family returned with an ice cream sundae to share and tales from their special night.

Now that I have shared a few of my favorites with y'all I would love to read about some of your favorite~

What a special guy that Vito is. I am sure they had a wonderful time, and it's so nice for you to have an evening by yourself. My fav is to put on the radio in the car or in the house and listen to some of my favorite music - Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Third Day, Chris Tomlin, to name a few... and an old fav - Josh Groban. I just feel so uplifted. I couldn't get by without my tunes. I used to enjoy bubble baths, but I can't tell you the last time I took one. I think it's because I can't take my laptop in there with me. LOL

How awsome is Vito!!! I'm sure Date nights will be memories they will both cherish forever.
And woopeeee having a night to your self. I would have done the exact same, good book, good music, and a bubble bath. I might have added a glass or two or three of wine :) Time very well spent!!
Happy Wednesday!

That is just precious! I love how he rang the doorbell too.

sara July 31, 2008 at 7:43 PM

What an AWESOME night!! I, too, love beth Moore and admit that her teachings have helped me tremendously walk through this life that I seem to muddle up!!

The Pear quesadillas sounds delish - you got some nutrition facts on them?

Nicole July 31, 2008 at 10:18 PM

Reading about recipes, cough up the one about ice cream sandwich cake. Thank you for bringing that to Jen who brought it here and I have eaten most of it! If you needed another partner at WW you could have just asked and not tempted me with ice cream sandwich cake! ;-)

How wonderful! My Dad took me on my 'first date' as well, and I'll tell you, it definitely impacts a girl, and is a time she will remember always! It shows a young lady just how special they are and how they SHOULD and DESERVE to be treated when the whole dating scene starts. What an invaluable gift Vito has given his sweet daughter.
What a special man you have for a hubby! But you already knew

Rebecca August 2, 2008 at 4:21 PM
